As we all know, work-from-home jobs have been rising in the past couple of years, but how many opportunities for remote jobs are actually available now? According to the study “Working from Home from Around the Globe” conducted in 2023, countries that are predominantly English-speaking are more likely to offer work-from-home jobs; they are more open to the idea of remote work. In the US, 21% of full-time employees reportedly worked from home in 2022, but we have seen a trend in companies calling employees back to work and engaging in a hybrid work schedule. This requires employees to spend some days in the office and some days working from home. A hybrid work schedule, while more accommodating than a full-time in-office position, is not what most employees want. There are many benefits to a fully remote work schedule; it is a highly desired work schedule, but in the United States employees only work from home 1.4 days a week on average. So that leaves the question of how many fully remote jobs are available and are any of them entry-level positions.

In 2023, only 12.7% of full-time employees reportedly worked from home; that is significantly less than the reported 21% as stated in 2022. However, there are still entry-level remote jobs available. Some of the most accessible work-from-home positions offered today include data entry clerk/analyst, administrative assistant, and customer service representative. In fact, customer service representative jobs were among the most in-demand remote jobs in 2023. Many customer service representative jobs do not require much experience if any at all. In this line of work, you can find employment within nearly every industry including technology, healthcare, travel, retail, etc. With a connection to many industries, people are sure to find something of interest to them within this job; making customer service representative careers accessible, in-demand, and highly valued by companies. Of course, the most desired part is that customer service representative positions can be done completely from home and most of them are.
